Questions people ask
Who runs this website?
SingaporeViolinists.com is a booking service for violinists and string groups, based in Singapore. Every enquiry and booking made here is handled by our team in Singapore.
What can I book?
A solo violinist, acoustic or electric, an LED violinist, a violinist with backing tracks, piano or harp, a string duo or trio, or a string quartet of two violins, a viola and a cello.
How long does a violinist play?
Most bookings run one to three hours. A set of 30 to 45 minutes covers a ceremony or a surprise appearance.
What music can the violinist play?
Classical, pop, jazz and bossa nova, Chinese melodies and Mandopop, Malay, Indian and Arabic tunes, and film, anime and video game themes. Set lists can be built around your requests.
Do I need to provide a sound system?
Not in a small room. Small amplifiers usually come with the violinist. For large venues, a PA system, microphones and mixing can be arranged at extra cost, or the violinist plugs into the venue's AV.
Can I choose the violinist?
Yes. After you send the brief, you get a shortlist with photos, videos and profiles of the violinists who are free, and you choose. Male and female violinists are available.
Can the violinist wear colours that match our theme?
Yes. You can choose costume colours and tracks to match your theme.
What does the fee include?
The performer's time, a briefing before the event, preparation and the agreed performance time. Special costumes, travel to remote venues and overtime are quoted separately.
Can I book at short notice?
Sometimes. Requests within 48 hours are possible, depending on who is free. For the best choice, book two to four weeks ahead, or three to six months for a wedding.
Do you offer violin lessons or rentals?
No. This site books live violinists and string groups for events only.
