Violinist for corporate events in Singapore

A roaming violinist as guests arrive, live strings through dinner, a featured solo before the awards or an electric violinist for the launch moment. The music fits your running order.

Violinist for a corporate event in Singapore playing on a low stage at a company dinner and dance in a hotel ballroom

A violinist gives a corporate event a polished first impression without taking over the room. You can hire a violinist for a corporate event in Singapore at a hotel ballroom, a rooftop bar, an office lobby, a conference venue or a showroom: for an annual dinner and dance, a gala dinner, an award ceremony, a product launch, a conference reception or a client evening.

Price: a string duo or quartet usually costs SGD 800 to 2,500, and a string quartet for 1 to 2 hours usually costs SGD 1,200 to 2,500. A solo violinist is quoted for your date. See violinist prices in Singapore.

Three ways to use a violinist

Roaming at the cocktail hour. The violinist moves among guests as they arrive with drinks. No stage and no sound system. It sets the tone in the first minutes, while people are still finding their table.

Music through dinner. A soft set of classical, jazz and pop pieces under the conversation, from a corner of the room or a low stage.

A featured solo. A few minutes in the spotlight before the main programme item, such as the awards or the CEO's speech. This is where an electric violinist with LED effects works well, or a string quartet for a bigger, formal sound.

Dinner and dance nights

For a company dinner and dance, agree the slots with your emcee and the banquet manager. Keep the strings away from food service and speeches. A common plan is roaming music at arrival, background music through the first courses, and a short featured piece before the lucky draw or the awards.

Product launches and brand events

At a launch, the violin can lead into the reveal. Pick music that fits the brand: pop covers and film themes for a young brand, classical for a luxury one. The violinist can wear costume colours that match your theme.

Festive and seasonal events

For Christmas parties and New Year dinners, the violinist can play a set of holiday classics. For Chinese New Year, ask for Chinese melodies and Mandopop hits.

Sound and space

Roaming needs nothing. A dinner set or a solo in a ballroom needs amplification. Small amplifiers usually come with the violinist. For larger rooms, a PA system, microphones, monitors and mixing can be arranged at extra cost, or the violinist plugs into the venue's own AV. Tell us early, so we can talk to the venue's AV team.

What to send

Send the date, the venue, the headcount and your running order, with the slots you want music for. Ask on WhatsApp or through the quote form. The guide to hiring a violinist lists what to check with the venue.

Questions people ask

What does a violinist do at a corporate event?

Usually one of three things. Roams among guests at the cocktail hour, plays background music through dinner, or gives a featured solo on stage before the main programme item. Many events combine two.

Can the violinist play for our dinner and dance?

Yes. A solo violinist, a string quartet or an electric violinist all work at a dinner and dance. Tell us the running order and the violinist fits the sets around the speeches, the awards and dinner service.

Do we need a sound system?

For roaming, no. In a ballroom, the violin is amplified. Small amplifiers usually come with the violinist; for bigger rooms a PA system, microphones and mixing can be arranged at extra cost, or the violinist plugs into the venue's AV.

Can the music match our brand or theme?

Yes. Choose classical pieces for a formal gala, pop and film themes for a launch, or Chinese melodies for a Chinese New Year dinner. Costume colours can match your theme too.

How far ahead should we book?

At least two to four weeks ahead, and earlier for December events and Chinese New Year, when company dinners fill the calendar.
